Pupils at Henbury Court Primary Academy came together for a cultural fashion show, celebrating the diversity of their community.
With representation from over 60 countries, children took to the stage wearing national dress that reflected their cultural heritage. The event offered a showcase of identity, belonging and pride, with families and staff coming together to support and celebrate.
The celebration extended beyond the catwalk, with guests treated to cassava leaves – the national dish of Sierra Leone – lovingly prepared by a Year 6 parent. The shared meal added to the sense of community and gave pupils the opportunity to experience and appreciate cultures through food as well as fashion.
Jake Howarth Brown, headteacher, said: “This was a truly special event that reflects everything we stand for as a school. Our community is incredibly diverse, and it was wonderful to see our pupils so proud to share their heritage with one another. Events like this help to build understanding, respect and a real sense of belonging.”
