Clifton High School is celebrating exceptional A-level outcomes.
This year, over 39% of all grades awarded were A*-A, with more than two-thirds of grades achieved at A*-B, significantly exceeding the national average of 28.3% for A*-A grades.
The results reflect the dedication, resilience and ambition of Clifton High’s Sixth Form students, as well as the strength of teaching, learning and academic support throughout the School.
Students achieved outstanding results across the curriculum. Further Mathematics and Chinese recorded a 100% A*-A pass rate, while every student studying History, Sociology, Photography, Spanish and German achieved grades A*-B.
Art continued its tradition of excellence, with all students securing A*-B grades. One student achieved one of the highest marks in the country, mirroring a similar accomplishment by a Clifton High student last year.
Strong results were also seen in the sciences, with more than three-quarters of students studying Biology, Chemistry and Physics achieving grades A*-B. Across the cohort, one in five students attained exclusively A*-A grades.
The School’s Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) also delivered impressive outcomes, with 73% of students achieving grades A*-B. The qualification enables students to undertake independent research while developing valuable academic and transferable skills.
These achievements have enabled students to secure places on an impressive range of courses and destinations.
Among the cohort are two students progressing to the University of Cambridge to study Medicine and Mathematics, while others are heading to institutions including Imperial College London to study Civil Engineering and the University of the Arts London to study Fashion Photography. Students will also go on to study disciplines including International Relations, Politics, Aviation, Motorsport Engineering and Veterinary Science, highlighting the alent and aspiration of the year group.
