The recent Ofsted inspection of Shine Wraparound Care, based at Elmlea Junior School, concluded that expected standards were met in all areas, noting positive relationships with children, and a warm welcome on arrival.
Shine offers supervised sports and creative activities for children aged 4-11 as an extension of the school day or as holiday-club sessions, based in a familiar school setting. Inspectors said leaders demonstrate a ‘reflective approach’ to behaviour, developing established routines and ‘considering individual needs when supporting participation’.
It was highlighted that children feel ‘comfortable and secure’ during their time at the club, enjoying a ‘varied programme of experiences’ and feeling confident in approaching staff for support, conversation and encouragement.
