THE head teacher E-ACT Badock’s Wood Academy has won a national award in her first year of headship.
Gemma Hewson was named E-ACT’s Primary Headteacher of the Year at the trust’s annual staff impact awards in Birmingham.
Gemma started her career at Badock’s Wood less than nine years ago, becoming head of school in 2024 then headteacher a year later.
She said: “I feel incredibly proud to lead such a caring, dedicated and forward-thinking school community. This award isn’t just for me – it reflects the dedication and commitment of our whole team and school community. The staff, children, families and ambassadors all play a part in making Badock’s the special place it is.
“I am proud of the resilience, kindness and ambition shown by our children, families and staff every day.”
