Blooming great!

EDITH Wilmot Florist in Westbury has been named the best flower shop in Bristol for 2025.

The shop, first established in 1895, is the city’s longest-running flower shop.

Edith Wilmot has been at its current premises in Carlton Court since 1983.  Its experienced florists enjoy serving the community, advising and guiding on flowers for all occasions. They pride themselves on using locally grown, seasonal flowers and environmentally friendly methods of wrapping.

The ThreeBestRated analyst team were impressed by the florist’s consistent high-quality service and recognised them after a thorough 50-point inspection—covering everything from reputation and customer satisfaction to trust and excellence – awarding them 4.9 stars out of a possible 5.

With so many businesses in the village closing down recently and controversies regarding the future of the shopping centre at Carlton Court, the shop is grateful for all the support of its cus-tomers, stating: “A huge thank you to our wonderful customers for your continued support—you’re the reason we do what we love every day.”

Judit Kurmai, who started working there as a florist in 2014 and took over running the shop in 2023, was keen to praise the hard work of all those involved over the years, telling us: “This is not just my work; the previous owners and all my colleagues built the shop’s reputation over decades. I am just working hard to keep it at the same level or maybe even increase it.”
