Bristol Amateur Operatic Society brings its new musical theatre revue, Virtue & Villainy, to Newman Hall from 14–17 October.
Through a varied selection of songs from across the world of musical theatre, the show delves into the choices, motivations and contradictions that shape the characters we encounter on stage. Audiences can expect an entertaining mix of light and darkness, comedy and drama, with numbers drawn from well-loved favourites alongside some lesser-known theatrical gems.
BAOS was formed in 1894 and is Bristol’s oldest amateur theatre company. The society has a long-standing connection with Henleaze, regularly rehearsing and performing at Newman Hall, which is also home to its new musical theatre community choir, BAOS Sings.
The production is led by first-time BAOS director Daisy, supported by musical director James and a team of local choreographers.
As a registered charity, BAOS relies on ticket sales and community support to continue creating opportunities for local people to perform, develop new skills and enjoy live theatre.
