A sense of celebration and shared pride filled QEH as Year 13 students returned to collect their A level results.
In what has been a competitive year nationally for university places, a quarter of QEH students achieved straight A* or A grades across all their subjects.
Reflecting on the students’ success, Head Rupert Heathcote said: “Results day is always one of my favourite days in the school calendar because it is about celebrating our students as individuals. Seeing the excitement, and genuine happiness on the students and parents’ faces this morning has been wonderful.
“They have worked incredibly hard, supporting one another through a busy two years. While these grades open doors to fantastic university courses and exciting next steps, I am just as proud of the kind, grounded, and thoughtful young adults they have become. Our dedicated teaching staff have been with them every step of the way, and I know they join me in wishing this group every happiness for the future.”
Of the students who joined QEH into Year 12, 81% of grades awarded were A* to B grades, a testament to how quickly they embraced all the opportunities the school offers.
For those students that began their QEH journey in Year 3 of the Junior School, 83% of their grades awarded were A*to B.
Beyond the headlines, progress across the entire cohort has been exceptional. From boys who joined QEH in Year 3, to those girls and boys who came onboard for Sixth Form in Year 12, students across all academic profiles have consistently surpassed expectations.
