Parking charges loom

RESIDENTS are being urged to have their say over the long-planned charges for in the Westbury Hill car park.

The council has finally issued the legal notice for the fees and people have until Friday December 12 to respond.

Westbury on Trym Society (WoTSoc) hopes that a flood of objections might delay the introduction, or even force a rethink.

It says the proposed charges will affect local businesses and damage village life.

The plan is to  allows for parking spaces to be reserved for business permit holders, medical staff and electric vehicle charging, but WoTSoc says this will further reduce the number of public spaces available.

The Order, which also applies to nine other care parks across Bristol, can be viewed on the council website at www.bristol.gov.uk/trafficorders, where there is  also information on how to make an objection.
