STUDENTS, staff and parents at Collegiate are celebrating following an excellent set of examination results.
Ninety seven per cent of Collegiate Year 13s have secured their first or second choice university or apprenticeship courses, having earned fantastic grades in their A-level, BTEC and CTEC exams.
Headline figures include:
• 40% of A Level grades were awarded at A/A*
• 76% of A Level grades were awarded at A*/B
• 74% of CTEC and BTEC grades were awarded at Starred Distinction / Distinction (the equivalent of A*/A at A Level)
• 15 students (20% of the cohort) achieved the equivalent of AAA or better
• 97% of applicants secured their first (85%) or second choice university course or apprenticeship
Collegiate headmaster Jeremy McCullough said: “We are always delighted when our collective raw results are very good but, as ever, it is the individual success stories that really demonstrate the value of the education a school has provided and it was fantastic to see so many smiling faces collecting their results this morning.
“Our brilliant students have worked ever so hard, and have been fantastically well-supported by their teachers and their parents. They have earned a fantastic set of results that will see the vast majority of them move on to their first or second choice university or apprenticeship but they have achieved so much more than this in their time at Collegiate.
“This cohort have contributed so much to the life of the school, in so many different ways, that we have to remind ourselves that there is more to their school careers than these results, no matter how good they are. “
Good news for QEH
QEH is delighted with outstanding A-level results. More than half of all grades (52%) awarded were at A*–A.
Additionally 18% of all grades were A*, with 78% of grades being at A*–B, and an impressive 93% of grades at A*–C. Furthermore, over a third of students achieved three A* and A grades.
Two thirds of the grades awarded to students who joined QEH for Sixth Form in Year 12 were A*/A, a testament to how quickly they embraced all the opportunities the school offers.
Equally impressive are the results of those who began their QEH journey in Year 3 of Junior School with 55% of their grades being at A*–A this year.
Head, Rupert Heathcote, said: “It has been fantastic to see our Year 13 students celebrating such impressive results. Their ambition, determination, and commitment to their studies have been rewarded with outcomes that open exciting opportunities for the future. It is especially pleasing to see such success from a cohort with more candidates than last year, demonstrating that QEH girls and boys continue to achieve at the very highest level. I am deeply grateful to our dedicated staff, whose expertise and encouragement have helped guide each student towards fulfilling their potential.”
Over 95% of students gained a place at the university of their choice. Value Added data shows that students of all abilities exceeded predictions and can now progress on to pathways of their choice
Every student with an Oxbridge or medical or veterinary school offer secured their place.
